Did you know NOT talking about sex can create covert trauma

Covert Trauma is a trauma that is hidden. It may not appear for years until you are in a relationship and having problems with sex. The Covert Trauma may result in infidelity or even attract a partner who is a sex/porn addict (compulsivity).

Did you know NOT talking about sex creates sexual myths?

A sexual myth is a an idea about sex that is not true. The sexual myth then leads to a sexual dysfunction and creates conflict or discomfort in your relationship.

Have you the language for Sex Talk that offers some protection for sexual trauma?

How often do you use the word 'Consent'? EVERY day and ALL day we are consenting to everything that we do or don't do. Consent is not limited to sex. Using this word often, as part of your everyday language, makes it easier to clearly express sexually what you are comfortable with and what you are NOT comfortable with.

Consent offers clear YES or NO (Maybe is a NO) boundaries in everyday life. It offers protection.

Are you a parent?

Ever thought of creating your own Relationship & Sex Education?

Did you know NOT talking about sex can create covert trauma?

Have you the language for Sex Talk that offers some protection?

As a parent, you may have heard horror stories about porn viewing and want the REAL facts. You may have considered creating your own sex education. Mixed messages about sexuality confuses children.

You may have even had a situation where someone has viewed porn and you have not really known what to do or what to say that would help them to understand what they were seeing and encourage them NOT to seek viewing it again.

You may even AVOID the Sex Talk conversation.

Are you a caregiver (aunty, uncle, grandparent, family friend or professional)?

Do you want to support your family, close friends or children in your care?

Sometimes children find it easier to have a conversation with someone other than a parent. Having the language and relevant facts for Sex Talk is essential so you can support children in developing healthy relationships, understanding their sexuality and avoiding sexual trauma.

Unfortunately, due to the ease of access to media, porn is widely viewed by children and often used as the prime sex educator. The Children's Commission recently recommended starting Sex Talk AS EARLY AS 8 YEARS OLD - earlier if a child has already been exposed to porn.

Are you in the caregiving profession where you are dealing with sexual issues yet have had no training?

You may have to deal with a issue related to porn viewing, sharing images or sexting and it may have felt really uncomfortable.

Note: Talking about sex can feel uncomfortable for a variety of reasons.
